The study was designed to capture the process of nurturing talent in Tata Steel Company. By introducing EDGE (ensuring development and growth of employee) Tata Steel has a conviction that human capital requires to be retained in the corporate world. Talent Review System (TRS) is an edited version of Performance Management System covering core elements of talent to be reflected in performance. While working with a team in a long profit product centre (LPPC) seventy six officers from five departments participated in the study. Results showed that high performers were aware of KRA (key results area) and performance contract. About 66 per cent [of] respondents had an impression that superiors always followed the prescribed assessment procedures. A large number of them were satisfied with [the] self-appraisal system. A little bit of confusion prevailed in their mind about the assessment procedures. 76 per cent [of] officers did not like various categories of performers. The findings supported the unstated effort of individual and organizational learning.
